The Slovenian Forestry Trail is scheduled for August 30, 2025, on Pohorje, with the start and finish located at the Rogla Sports Center.
The event offers two scenic routes through the century-old Pohorje forests:
- JELKA: A 12 km trail suitable for beginners and recreational runners.
- BUKEV: A 34 km trail designed for experienced runners seeking a more challenging course.
Both routes pass by peat bogs, crystal-clear streams, and lakes, offering breathtaking views of the valleys and hills surrounding Pohorje.

The organizer of the trail is the company Slovenian State Forests Ltd. (SiDG), which manages and administers forests owned by the Republic of Slovenia, accounting for 20% of all forested areas in the country. Their mission is based on sustainable, nature-friendly, and multifunctional forest management. They recognize that economic success is just one aspect of their work, which is why they continually align forest management with nature conservation and the promotion of the social functions of forests, including their recreational role.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The website for the Slovenian Forestry Trail is built using WordPress technology. WordPress is an open-source platform commonly used for creating and managing websites. It is a type of CMS (Content Management System), which can be translated into Slovenian as a “sistem za urejanje vsebin.”
Originally, WordPress was designed as a platform for creating and managing blogs. You might recall the time when blogs were nearly non-existent, and then suddenly they started appearing more and more frequently.
During that period, WordPress became a valuable tool for many bloggers, as most blogs were built on this platform. This remains true even today. However, WordPress has evolved far beyond a blogging CMS and now serves as the foundation for many professional websites, both business-oriented and personal.
The design of the website is fully tailored to the client’s wishes – every detail is crafted to reflect their vision while adhering to the guidelines of their corporate visual identity (CVI). With an innovative approach and meticulous attention to detail, we’ve created a user experience that seamlessly blends aesthetics with functionality.
