ABOUTTHE CLIENT
The Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia is an independent institution, which contributes to the protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Slovenia through the investigation of the complaints, submission of opinions and recommendations to any authority, addressing pressing human rights issues, conducting on-sight inspections, conducting human rights education, research, through cooperation with civil society as well as through own initiatives and statements on legislative proposals.
The Ombudsman is elected by the Parliament of Slovenia upon the proposal of the President of the Republic. Parliament elects also two to four Deputy-Ombudsmen on Ombudsman’s initiative. The Ombudsman is in his work not limited to handling direct violations, however this is one of his main activities. The election, powers and tasks of the Ombudsman are provided in the Constitution and in the Human Rights Ombudsman Act (by now also several other Acts provide the Ombudsman with respective powers and/or tasks).
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Positiva Rešitve d.o.o. developed an attractive website for the client – THE HUMAN RIGHTS OMBUDSMAN OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA – using the Typo3 platform.
The website is designed in a responsive manner, making it suitable for all mobile devices. The redesigned website follows current design trends for similar institutions and operates on the LAMP framework in accordance with the technical specifications of the Ministry of Public Administration.
For the client, we also performed a complete import of old content and preserved existing links for all key sections of the old site. All key information on the website is provided in an open and machine-readable format. The site is also clearly categorized, allowing users to navigate easily and efficiently.
The website features powerful analytics to track the popularity of certain content and measure visits to individual subpages. It also includes a document download counter for specific materials. The site has its own analytics through the analysis of web server log files.
The website allows for easy switching between English, Slovenian, Italian, and Hungarian versions. It also includes a powerful search engine for keywords and document types.
The website is accessible to individuals with visual impairments and supports usage by people with other disabilities and health conditions.
With this project, we achieved an effective presentation of the client in relation to their users (identity card, presentation of the procedure with the client, access to the client’s publications, etc.).
